Provost

Modify an Undergraduate Program

OBR approval is required when:

  • Modifying an existing degree program by more than 50%
  • Creating or modifying a track or concentration that constitutes more than 50% of the degree program
  • Changing the name of an existing degree program
  • Changing the delivery location of an existing program
  • Changing the delivery format of an existing program (online, accelerated, hybrid, etc.)

Three broad stages are involved if OBR approval is required:

1. Preparation of a  Letter of Intent

2.  Preparation of the request for modification

Please note that only the Provost Office is authorized to submit the letter of intent and degree modification proposals to the Ohio Board of Regents (OBR) for review and authorization

3.  Authorization

After a program has been fully approved, the Provost Office will communicate this decision to the College Dean and Program Unit.  The program unit will then be permitted to complete a New Academic Program Program Submission form (PASLA form).

New Academic Program Submission form (PASLA form)

After all signatures are obtained, the Provost Office will forward the PASLA form to the Registrar's Office for creation of a PASLA.  The Program Unit should then proceed to enter the Program and Course data into eCurriculum.
