Adult Group Swim Lessons
Cost: Member $45 / Non-Member $59

These non-credit adult lessons are separated into 3 levels; Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. On the first day of class, participants will be asked to demonstrate their swimming abilities and to outline their personal goals for the course. This will allow the instructor to verify that participants are enrolled in the proper level and to adjust his or her lesson plan to best work towards meeting these goals.

Adult Beginner
In this level adults will work on becoming more comfortable in the water. Basic swimming skills the students will be working on include front and back floats and glides, rhythmic breathing drills, alternating arm-stroke, and flutter kicking. Depending on the skill being taught, the class will use both the leisure pool and the lap pool.

Adult Intermediate
At this level participants will work on basic strokes including front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke and elementary backstroke. Open turns, proper body position and breathing techniques will be emphasized. Participants will be swimming the width of the pool (25 yards) as they work on their skills.

Adult Advanced
Participants at the advanced level will continue to work on the proficiency of their strokes as well as swim greater distances to improve their endurance. Competitive starts and turns will also be introduced. This is also an ideal program for individuals desiring to participate in triathlons or to improve upon the swimming portion of such a competition.
