Water Safety Instructor Course (16+ yrs.) American Red Cross Cost: Member $150 / Non-Member $175 |
This program prepares you to instruct the American Red Cross progressive swim lesson program and other water safety-related programs. Upon successful completion of this 36-hour course participants receive certificates in WSI and FIT (Fundamentals of Instructor Training). Books and materials are included in the registration fee.
WSI Course Prerequisites: Participants must be at least 16 years of age on or before the final scheduled class session and pass a swimming skills test prior to enrolling. Participants must demonstrate a minimum of Level 4 competencies in the following swimming skills: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, butterfly, floating on back for one minute, and treading water.
