The goal of Learning Assistance is to help you become a successful independent learner. This is why we provide free tutoring and learning resources for undergraduate students. Some of our other goals include:
Assist students who are in danger of failing a course
Assist students who desire to improve their overall grade point average
To increase retention and graduation rates of all students; and
Assist students in developing study habits and positive attitudes to ensure academic success in their college careers and beyond.
To provide faculty and staff with study skills interventions for their students in danger of failing their course.
Many students need help with basic skills in math, reading, writing, computer literacy or study skills. The Learning Assistance Center has free tutorials and learning resources readily available to help students prepare for their courses. Students utilize tutoring for a number of reasons: to keep up with school assignments; get additional assistance when anticipating or experiencing academic difficulties; or to review for quizzes and exams. Often students seek help at the last minute and are often too late to get the help needed to pass a course. We encourage you to visit us early and learn about the available resources for your courses.
