A University of Cincinnati undergraduate student who has been readmitted to the University after an absence of at least three years may petition the dean of his or her college to have former courses treated in accordance with the college's advanced standing policy. Upon approval of a Fresh Start the student's accumulative grade point average will be initiated from the date of reentry. The credit granted for prior work will be established by the student's college at the time of readmission.
A request for Fresh Start must be submitted within one year of readmission and applies only to courses taken at UC before readmission. An academic Fresh Start is not automatic and it is not guaranteed. The Fresh Start option may be effected only once during a student's career.
