Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to share the revised publication of The Registration and Grading Handbook for Faculty. The University of Cincinnati offers a rich and exciting educational environment, which begins in the classroom and extends throughout the University community. The staff in Student Affairs and Services welcome playing a part in that experience.
Much of our business has changed since the original publishing of this Handbook that affects you:
- Implementation of several new grades identified and approved by faculty;
- Implementation of UniverSIS, our integrated student information system; and
- Implementation of our One Stop Student Service Center-providing a focal point for many of the services delivered to our students through both in-person and Web applications.
In light of these changes, this Handbook is an essential resource to all faculty, staff, and administration. It provides important information on policies that assist our newer faculty as well as our more veteran faculty, and it explains the procedures used to ensure that your registration and grading rules are exercised with consistency and administrative integrity.
I commend the staff in the Office of the Registrar in their drive to support the academic mission of our University. Please continue to utilize the three Associate Registrars-Gail Fredensborg, Wendy Lambing, and Fran Meyer-for assistance with interpreting and enacting the policies contained within this Handbook. As needed, they will provide further updates to this Handbook at the Office of the Registrar Web site.
Best wishes for a successful academic year.
Sincerely,
Mitchel D. Livingston Vice President for Student Affairs and Services
