Undergraduate students from nearby counties in Kentucky are able to attend University of Cincinnati at a metropolitan tuition rate. The metropolitan rate is the Ohio in-state tuition rate plus $15.00 per credit hour each semester up to a maximum of a $180 surcharge (12 to 18 hours per semester).
With the exception of College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning programs, the metropolitan rate is applicable to all other undergraduate and certificate programs.
Effective with the Fall Semester 2013, within the College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning the metropolitan rate is applicable to the following programs (and only to these programs):
- Art History
- Fashion
- Fine Arts
- Horticulture
- Planning
- Urban Studies
Students approved for the metropolitan rate who change programs from an eligible major to a College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning program other than those listed just above are subject to the assessment of out-of-state tuition rates.
Important Note: because students present in the United States on temporary status (including F-1 and J-1 visa holders) are prevented, by their temporary status, from meeting the legal requirement to establish Kentucky residency, these students are not eligible for the undergraduate metro rate.
