Juan R. Guardia, Ph.D.
Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students

Dr. Guardia joined the University of Cincinnati in 2016. He has been in the field of higher education/student affairs for over 18 years in various administrative roles, including Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago and the Director of the Center for Multicultural Affairs at Florida State University. A native of Miami, Florida, Juan enjoys running and spending time with family and friends.

Daniel S. Cummins #1

Daniel Cummins, M.S.
Assistant Dean of Students

Daniel Cummins has over 30 years of professional and higher education experience, including positions in residence life, housing, judicial affairs, and student affairs. He has served in leadership roles with various professional organizations, including the American College Personnel Assocation (ACPA) Executive Council and the Association for Student Judicial Affairs (ASJA) Executive Board. Daniel was recently appointed to the Advisory Council to the Hamilton County Strategic Prevention Framework/State Incentive Grant (SPF/SIG), which strives to reduce alcohol and drug abuse through educational efforts and strategic marketing.

AnieshaMitchell

Aniesha Mitchell, J.D.
Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards

Aniesha K. Mitchell joined the University of Cincinnati in April 2016 to serve as the Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards. Prior to working at the University of Cincinnati, she worked at Ole Miss (the University of Mississippi) and the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Although she is licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan, Aniesha has dedicated her career to servicing, supporting, and teaching students. She has over a decade of experience in higher education in the areas of enrollment management, retention, conflict resolution, student conduct, and instruction. Aniesha is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Christopher J. Nichter, MMus
Director of Bands

Mr. Nichter is currently the 14th Director of Bearcat Bands at the University of Cincinnati. Previously, he held for 10 years the position of Assistant Director of Bands and Assistant Director of Athletic Bands at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. Guest conducting appearances have included all-county and region honor bands. He is an honorary Brother of Kappa Kappa Psi (Omicron 2007), Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (Epsilon Sigma 2013, Province 39 Governor 2016-2017), and Phi Beta Mu (Tau 2016) and serves as an active adjudicator and clinician.

Trent Pinto-Director

Trent Pinto, M.S.
Director of Resident Education & Development

Trent joined the University of Cincinnati as the Director of Resident Education & Development in Summer 2014. Previously, Trent spent several years in residence life most recently at the University of Dayton. Trent has been in the field of higher education since 2005 and has spent time working in Boston, Massachusetts, Hartsville, South Carolina, and Dayton, Ohio. Originally from Cleveland, Trent has a love/hate relationship with all Cleveland sports and enjoys spending time with his partner and two young children, and continuing to explore all that this region has to offer. Trent is currently finishing up his dissertation for his PhD from Antioch University. The topic of his study is focusing on racism's impact on student affairs professionals; an area that he has been studying and researching for close to 10 years now.

Whitney White, M.S.
Director of Parent & Family Programs | Student Affairs Marketing & Communication

Whitney joined the University of Cincinnati in August 2017. Over the past 12 years, she has worked with students and their families in a variety of capacities, including Parent & Family Relations at Johns Hopkins University, the Student Success Center at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, and Orientation Programs & Parent Services at UC Santa Barbara. Whitney enjoys spending time with her family and exploring her new hometown of Cincinnati.
