Purpose/Description:
The purpose of the University Student organization is to educate about and advocate for the preservation of architecture, habitat and cultural heritage at the University of Cincinnati, its surrounding region and beyond. re|UC endeavors to be a cross-disciplinary group of students from many backgrounds, all interested in the intersections of preservation, reuse, community development and revitalization, habitat restoration and sustainability. The group will provide educational opportunities, field trips, conferences, and volunteer opportunities for its members, as well as for the UC and Cincinnati communities. re|UC will endeavor to bring attention to the need for preservation of our cultural heritage and natural realm; the reuse of buildings in order to reduce waste and environmental impact and the revitalization of our neighborhoods for the sustainability and health of our institution.
