Diversity Education
Diversity Education programs provide opportunities for students, faculty and staff to engage in dialogue regarding social justice issues such as race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ability, social economic status and privilege through RAPP and OutReach.
Racial Awareness Program (better known as RAPP) is a forum for students to challenge, debate, and educate each other on issues of diversity. The motto "Each One Teach One" is adopted from an ancient African proverb. It captures the importance and focus that the RAPP program places on individual understanding, effort, and commitment to social justice. RAPP believes that each person can affect their environment in a positive way through their actions and their attitude.
Outreach services, programs, workshops and presentations are offered to staff, faculty and student organizations to increase diversity awareness around campus. Facilitators are alumni members of RAPP or other Diversity Education staff members who have been trained to lead discussions
