RAPP V was held in the 1989-1990 school year. Racial Awareness Pilot Project was recognized as an official program on campus this year. The group's name changed to the Racial Awareness Program but kept its original acronym (RAPP) because of community and campus familiarity with the "two P" acronym and logo.
CBS Evening News featured a story on race and higher education that highlighted RAPP as a program that works.
