Student Organization Info

Welcome Bearcats!

The area you are now viewing is your guide to involvement, student group resources, and student life at the University of Cincinnati!

Student organizations at the University of Cincinnati provide students with opportunities to get involved in a wide variety of interest areas that include cultural/ethnic groups, political, and service organizations to name a few! Currently we recognize over 300 student groups.

Research suggests that involved students perform better academically and are more likely to graduate than their peers who are not involved! Therefore we are encouraging to find your niche, GET ACTIVE and make an impact on your campus!

Important Student Group Updates

Greetings Student Leaders and Advisors!

Please know that the members of SAB and UFB have been working hard to improve the trainings for student organizations!

In the spirit of improvement the members of the Student Activities Board (SAB) and University Funding Board (UFB) have combined the registration and treasurers workshop.  The new title of the training session is….Student Group Training Workshop.  Both organizations decided to combine the workshops in an effort to make the registration process easier for student organizations.  The President and Treasurer of the student organization will be required to attend the combined workshop.  The first portion of the workshop will be the registration training and the second portion will be the treasurers.

In addition to attending the Student Group Training Workshop, students must also update their online officer information and group roster at https://www.uc.edu/webapps/sald/studentlogin.aspx.

Additional instructions  regarding the registration process can be found at http://www.uc.edu/sald/student_organization/RequiredStudenGroupandAdvisorTrainings.html

The deadline to complete the registration process for all returning student organizations has passed (the deadline was Thursday, December 8, 2011). Student groups that did not complete the process will not be a recognized student group for the 2011-2012 academic year.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development at 513-556-6115.

Multimedia Usage

Effective September 13, 2010, the Libraries will lend multimedia equipment solely for use by UC students and faculty in direct support of instruction and completion of course assignments. This change in policy is necessary because Information Technology and Instructional Equipment (ITIE) fees, which students pay, are now the only source of funding for instructional equipment provided by Langsam Library. ITIE funds are restricted to use that promotes “direct and primary benefit to student learning.”

In the past, the Libraries had additional funding for equipment, which made it possible to support extracurricular activities such as student events and personal use, but that is no longer the case.
