Into the Streets is one of the largest student community improvement efforts of the year. Projects for 2009 include everything from painting low-income housing for women, beautification projects, computer renovations, and other capacity building projects for area non-profits. Find out more by signing up and being part of making a difference through Into the Streets!
2008 Statistics On Saturday, October 4th, 150 of you worked on 18 different service teams--and what a variety of teams! You scrubbed windows, swept glass, and picked up litter along the various business districts in our Uptown community. You planted, mulched, weeded, and cleared major debris in at least five of our city parks. You painted an outdoor picnic area at Hughes High school, alongside Hughes students. You cleared out junk and furniture from classrooms and the basement at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center. You worked with Over-the-Rhine Community Housing agency at a nearby school. You registered voters for the November election and shared information on community involvement. You identified graffiti and other blighted areas. And you swept through our neighborhood with your bags, your gloves, your trash-pickers, and your work ethic, wiping the streets clean of litter. You made a noticeable, tangible impact on your community. Bravo! Thanks for taking the Bearcat spirit to the streets! We'll see you next year....
