Additional Information
A Note about Online Tests University of Cincinnati holds you to a very high standard for academic honesty. You must take all your placement tests without any assistance and according to the instructions provided. By taking the tests, you have agreed to the above conditions. Individuals found to have violated this honor code will be sanctioned by the university. The highest penalty is academic dismissal.
Access to Computers with Internet Connection Here are some places you may be able to find a computer with internet access to take your test:
Academic Integrity The University of Cincinnati has launched an ongoing Academic Integrity Campaign to educate students regarding academic integrity. The campaign emphasizes that character counts and integrity is important to academic excellence. Academic integrity provides the foundation upon which a flourishing acadamic life rests. It requires honesty. Academic dishonesty diminishes the University of Cincinnati as an institution and all members of the University community. For these reasons and more, academic integrity is an essential part of any true educational experience.
As new students to the University of Cincinnati, you are responsible for upholding the highest standards of honesty at all times, as well as adhering to the principles and spirit of the Academic Integrity Campaign. We ask that you acknowledge and honor your responsibilities while completing all placement tests regardless of location. http://www.uc.edu/conduct/Academic_Integrity.html
University Honors Program Students Students in the University Honors Program are expected to complete all placement tests prior to the Bearcat Bound Orientation program. University Honors Program students are also required to attend the University Honors Program Orientation on the morning of the first day of their Bearcat Bound Orientation program. The web address for the Honors Scholars program is http://www.honors.uc.edu.
Advanced Placement (AP) and Post-Secondary Enrollment Option Program (PSEOP) You are exempt from taking the English Placement essay, if you have a score of 4 or higher on your Advanced Placement (AP) English Language & Composition or English Literature & Composition exam or if you have a "C" or higher in PSEOP English Composition class. Other AP credits will be evaluated during your Bearcat Bound Orientation. All other tests specified by your college are required (See College Specifics.) If you do not have your AP score, you are required to take the English Placement essay.
Cincinnatus Scholarship If you attended the Cincinnatus Scholarship Competition in February and you completed the Cincinnatus essay, you will not be required to write another English placement essay. Your Cincinnatus essay will be used in place of the English placement essay to determine your initial English course placement. Eligible high school seniors who submitted a completed UC admissions application by the December 15, 2007 deadline were invited to the Cincinnatus Competition.
