The Math Placement Test You may take this test online from anywhere with internet access. The math placement test is accessed through Blackboard. In order to be able to take the test, you will need to activate your Blackboard account. After reading through this information, please go to Getting Started and activate all your accounts.
Calculators are not permitted in this test. The placement test is timed for 50 minutes and is entirely multiple-choice with only one correct answer. It will be tailored to match your level of proficiency. The questions are from pre-algebra, algebra, and pre-calculus. This placement test is used to identify the math course that best matches your current mathematical skill. Your math placement test results will be compared to your SAT or ACT math score; should there be a significant discrepancy you will be retested under proctored conditions. All the scores will become part of your academic file. Please remember placement tests are used to place you in the correct beginning course. You will not be successful if you are placed in a course for which you are not academically ready.
