Placement Testing
Placement Tests are not admissions tests, but are used to determine your initial course placements.  Most undergraduate students at the University of Cincinnati are required to take placement tests in the areas of math, English, and foreign language before they can take the classes in those areas (for exceptions see College Specifics, Advanced Placement, Cincinnatus Scholarship, and PSEOP).

Quick Start Student Program
Quick Start, like online placement tests, gives you the opportunity to take your placement tests early.  This not only allows you to get a head start on orientation, it also allows for a  more enjoyable Bearcat Bound Orientation Program. 

There is no fee for Quick Start or online placement testing.  When you take your tests at Quick Start you will know immediately what classes you qualify for in math and foreign language (English results will be available at your Bearcat Bound Orientation). Students who have not completed their placement tests at Quick Start or online will need to check in earlier on the first day of their Bearcat Bound Orientation.  However, students who have completed all their placement tests at Quick Start or online do not need to check-in until 11:30 a.m.  Please note exceptions to this are CCM students, Honors Scholars and students accepted into the Center for Access and Transition (CAT) who will need to arrive at the time printed in the orientation brochure and on their Orientation Confirmation Card or e-mail.
PLEASE NOTE: The last day to take the English essay placement test at Quick Start is Saturday, June 7, 2008.
