Mainstreet to Transform into Farmers Market

By mangenll [at] email [dot] uc [dot] edu( Lauren Mangeno)

In conjunction with the All American Homecoming, the UC Sustainability initiative and PACES will be hosting a Farmers Market to promote campus greenery.

On Tuesday, October 7 from 11:30 am to 3:30pm, Mainstreet will be transformed into an outdoor produce department with locally grown fruits and vegetables.

Vendors from the Northside and Findlay Markets will be on site at the event along with other events such as cornhole, pumpkin carving, and tours of the solar house on McMicken Commons.

Madisono’s Gelato and Sorbet will also be on hand serving up some of their famous favorites.

The Rumpke Mountain Boys will be contributing some of their Bluegrass sounds as added entertainment during the event.

The UC Sustainability effort has been working hard to encourage students, faculty, and others alike to reduce their carbon footprint.

Come out to support UC Sustainability in this unique and exciting event and help UC ‘go green’.

First Year Perspective: Prepping for UC Football

So, you’ve been through your first week of classes, you’re settled in to your dorm room, you’ve met some friends, you went to convocation (unless you slept through it), and you’re already sick of college food. Congratulations. Now that you’re here, it’s time to start taking advantage of all the great experiences the University of Cincinnati has to offer. On October 11th, 2008, the boys in black and red take the field versus the Scarlet Knights in celebration of one of the greatest traditions in college sports: homecoming. It’s time to buy your tickets. It’s time to get excited. It’s time to “celebrate” (if you know what I mean). I’ve asked my good friend Marissa Carducci to go all out and demonstrate how to truly show your spirit and cheer Brian Kelly and the team on to a victory versus the Knights on the 11th. So please. Don’t be a party pooper. Get your tickets, buy the face paint, and get ready.

By mangenll [at] email [dot] uc [dot] edu( Lauren Mangeno)

Panhellenic sorority recruitment is rapidly approaching, and as excitement increases, so does the number of registered women.

"We have seen an amazing increase and interest in the sorority recruitment process, through number of women we have registered so far this year. It is so exciting to see that women on our campus are recognizing the wonderful benefits sorority life can offer them," said Panhellenic VP of Recruitment, Michelle Rayburn.

Friday October 17 through Monday October 20 marks the most important time of the year for sorority women, recruitment.

Women interested in joining a sorority may register and have the chance to visit each chapter house, learn their values, and meet the sisters.
