Message from the President

July 2006

Hello Fellow Bearcats!

We come to this hilltop to pursue our futures, sharpen our minds, make lifelong friends, and ultimately to learn life's lessons in a place we call MainStreet.  Last year Jeremy and I were lucky enough to be chosen by you to lead the student agenda at the University of Cincinnati. Early on in our tenure, we have had the opportunity to work with the City of Cincinnati (lighting on the streets around campus), evaluate the early success of the Bearcat Transportation System (BTS), begin the implementation of numerous strategies for better Student Government communication and increased transparency (an executive blog, making ourselves accessible to all, press releases, and a forthcoming newsletter), develop the foundation for better community relations (BearCAT Community Action Team), and lay the groundwork for the student leaders of tomorrow (FYE|SG Internship Program).

However, this is an evolving administration, keen to champion the ideas and needs of the students above all else.  You are our eyes and ears on the ground in every situation at UC, as we can be the mouth of those realities directly to administration. We believe that an effective dialogue between you and us lets us respond to the challenges that face the students at UC.

With high expectations we look forward to the coming year at the University of Cincinnati where, working together, we will continue the exponential growth of the student culture at UC.
