Fellow Bearcats:

The beginning of the school year has seen a great influx of new students, the shining of new opportunities, and great expectations. The incoming students joined the returning students to create a swell of energy that is carrying on within all of our journeys here at UC.

We in Student Government, likewise, have seen an incredible sea of passion and involvement. Senate meetings have been productive and well dressed with engaged debates about the student agenda every week. http://www.uc.edu/sga/senate.htm

Student Government Vice President Jeremy Driscoll and I have continued to push a strong agenda with the help of our Executive Cabinet. Presently we have 30 interns who were selected to begin their journey into the realm of student activism at the University of Cincinnati. Each Friday we spend time on Bearcat Plaza, McMicken Commons, or the TUC Food Court where we enjoy talking with other students about the issues they face. Our connections to the surrounding neighborhood continue to grow thanks to the BearCAT initiative, strengthening the student's place in the CUF community.

We look forward to Fall Ball on October 26th, the Open Student Forum in the Mainstreet Cinema with Dr. Livingston and Dean Bowen on October 30th at 3pm, a special presentaion on the progress of the Diversity Task Force on October 25th at 6:30 in 425 TUC, and a special Veterans Day Ceremony on November 9th at 10:30 on McMicken Commons.
