A Message From Former Student Body President Jerry Tsai On Teach For America

It’s 6:15 PM on a Saturday evening in October and I’m sitting in an empty 4th grade classroom grading papers. After the scores are calculated, it’s no surprise to me that the range of results is rather drastic. Some of my students are achieving at a level that far surpass my expectations, while others are two to three years below grade level. It’s mind-boggling to think that for the next ten months it will be my responsibility to make sure that ALL of these children attain a level of proficiency that will allow them to succeed in the future.

The University of Cincinnati Student Government would like to remind and encourage you to race to the polls and vote today.

It is a privilege and a civic duty for us as Americans to vote this Tuesday, November 4th. Undoubtedly, this election is historical with an African American and a woman on both parties’s Presidential and Vice Presidential tickets.
