Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. What groups need to be represented at the workshops?

A. Any " student-run " group who is open to all UC students and meets SAB requirements (i.e., minimum of ten members, regular meetings. etc.). and wants University funding. Club Sports Groups have their own workshops and groups competing academically for the University should attend a specific AIC workshop (either October 3rd or the 12th).

Q. It's a Treasurer's Workshop, does that mean ONLY the treasurer can attend the workshop?

A. NO, every group member is invited and encouraged to come and learn about how funding works. HOWEVER, only the treasurer or the president may sign the attendance form making them eligible for funding.

Q. If I am a president of one group and a treasurer for another, can my attendance count for two groups?

A. NO, one official (president or treasurer) from each group must come to the workshop.

Q. If I cannot make ANY of the scheduled times, can I still receive funding?

A. NO, if you cannot make any of the times listed, you can send the president of the organization. If you miss the scheduled times, you may come to a make-up session.

Q. Can graduate groups receive funding through the University Funding Board?

A. If a graduate group has undergraduate members and is considered an "ALL UNIVERSITY" group with SAB then yes, they can receive funding. However, graduate students are encouraged to check with GSA - Graduate Student Association- for graduate student funding at 556-6101- room 683 Steger Life.

Q. What about my advisor? Do they need to come to the meeting?

A. It is not required, BUT it is recommended that they attend a workshop because they sign off on many of the forms.

Q. I attended last year, do I have to go again?

A. Yes, there are changes from last year, especially regarding Mainstreet funding.

Q. Do I need to bring anything to the workshop with me?

A. The name of your advisor, their e-mail address and phone number.

Q. How long does the workshop last? What happens if I come late or leave early?

A. The sessions last about 1 hour and a half. You must be at the workshop at the beginning of the session to sign the attendance form and you must turn in a form when you leave the end of the session.
