Xan Boone has been in the field of social work since 1989.  She received her undergraduate degree in political science and her graduate degree in Social Work, both from the University of Cincinnati.  She has specialized in child welfare the majority of those years.  As an employee of Lucas County Juvenile Court and then Hamilton County Job and Family Services, Children’s Services Division, she received a plethora of child welfare experienced form case management to supervision.

In 2002, Ms. Boone became an adjunct Professor at UC teaching family violence, crisis intervention and child welfare courses.  She also worked with graduate students as their faculty liaison in the field.

Currently, Ms Boone is a trainer for the Ohio Child; Welfare training program, traveling the state of Ohio conducting training for new child welfare social workers.  She recently had the opportunity to travel to Ukraine and work with their government on the development of a child welfare program there. 

Ms. Boone has been a full time field serviced instructor for the University Of Cincinnati School Of Social Work since September 2007.  She teaches the child welfare courses, clinical child and family courses as well as some introductory courses and electives.
