Jeannette Taylor is Professor at the School of Social Work at the University of Cincinnati. Her fields of special interest include social welfare policy and analysis, program evaluation, leadership, continuing education, distance learning, and Christianity and social work theory and practice.
At the School of Social Work, Professor Taylor teaches in the areas of administration, social policy, and leadership, bringing over twenty years of both academic and practical experiences into the classroom. Professor Taylor served as Dean of the College of Evening and Continuing Education at the University of Cincinnati, as director of University Without Walls/Union for Experimenting Colleges and Universities, and as associate director of Seven Hills Neighborhood Houses, Inc.
Professor Taylor has published in the areas of diversity programs and services in continuing higher education and has presented on women as leaders in academia, managing diversity, and diversity programs in continuing education. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the Teaching Excellence Award (2001) from the Student Tribunal of the College of Evening and Continuing Education at the University of Cincinnati. Professor Taylor is involved in a variety of university and community activities including serving as adjunct faculty on doctoral committees in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services of the University of Cincinnati and at the Union Graduate School. She serves as Vice Chair on the Board of Trustees for CrossRoads, Inc., and mentors undergraduate African American Christian students from various colleges and universities.
Professor Taylor is a graduate of Delaware State College in sociology and received her MSW from Atlanta University. She received an interdisciplinary PhD from the University of Cincinnati in social psychology, education, and planning. Professor Taylor has been Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Cincinnati since 1979.
