One-year Advanced Standing MSW Plan of Study
You may choose this plan of study only if you have a Bachelor of Social Work from a social work program accredited by the Council on Social Work (CSWE).
If you choose this plan, you take classes on a full-time basis and complete the MSW program in one calendar year. Classes start in July when the summer quarter begins. In the fall quarter, you begin the second year of the two-year full-time MSW program.
The MSW program has two main components: classroom instruction and field instruction. The skills needed to work in the field are acquired first through classroom instruction and then applied in field instruction in a social service agency.
Classroom Instruction
The following course schedule is recommended for those who qualify to complete the one-year advanced standing MSW program.
Summer Courses
