How does a student who grew up in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and obtained her international baccalaureate high school diploma in Singapore end up at the University of Cincinnati? Ask Anh Tran! As a first year Architecture student, Anh has gone though some big transitions throughout her first year in Ohio.
Anh has hit the ground running on campus by getting involved in French Club, working with the Undergraduate Office of Admissions as an ambassador to prospective and incoming international students, and participating in the First Year Leadership Program sponsored by Student Government. In this role Anh is working with the International Admissions Office to help organize a trip to Singapore and Vietnam to work with high schools and bring the University of Cincinnati to them! Anh has also added more involvement in the University Honors Program by participating in the University Honors Association while also completing a seminar titled “Contemporary Paris” with a culminating study tour that took place in Paris, France over her first spring break. Anh hopes to become an architect and open offices in all of her favorite countries, the U.S., France, and, of course, Vietnam.

In Anh's Words
I picked UC as the destination for my higher education because of its Architecture program and the many opportunities UC can offer to students. There are so many possibilities out there at UC, as long as you reach out for them.
I myself had a chance to do a study abroad trip to Paris, my second most favorite country besides Vietnam, through an Honors seminar. I too find excitement getting involved with many different activities on campus, available to everyone even from their first year, namely First Year Leadership Program with the Student Government, French Club, Professional Fraternity, etc. Last summer, I had a chance to work as a Student Orientation Leader, aiding new college students and their families through orientations.
That said, I love being busy and meeting new people, and where else is better to do both of them than UC? UC has the most diverse community I've ever seen, and this is where you can learn from people and grow so much more than you could ever expect. Go Bearcats!
