Great Wall International Music Academy
Held in Beijing, China during the summer holiday every year, The Great Wall International Music Academy (GWIMA) is a month-long classical music education summer institute for gifted string players at the age of 10 to 25 from China, the United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Europe and around the world.

Jump In! Programs
CCM Preparatory invites people of all ages and abilities to check out our roster of more than 20 Jump In! courses in music, theater arts and dance. We offer youth productions of musical theatre shows, orchestra and band, even guitar, ukelele and world music drumming, plus ballet for all skill levels and adult drop-in programs in music, dance and theatre. Individual lessons are available year round, and group programs of various lengths will take place between June 10 and Aug. 10.
Architecture Mentoring Program
The goal of Summer CAMP is to foster greater awareness among younger students regarding the possibilities for and requirements of an architectural career, as well as to increase diversity within the architecture profession.
Wildest Dreams Art Studio
In the unique atmosphere of the School of Art at the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, middle school students will work closely and collaboratively with award winning faculty, graduate students, and artists who specialize in multimedia, experimental studio methods, creative writing, and urban arts. Participants will gain new skills in making and responding to art.
The Art of the Piano
Art of the Piano is the place to perfect your competition and recital repertoire. Perform in three 45-minute masterclasses with some of the world’s most sought-after teachers and artists, and enjoy our renowned faculty in recital. Twenty-five talented students will have the opportunity to participate in this unique experience.
Encore Chamber Orchestra
Encore Chamber Orchestra, a one-week program in which students rehearse and play great works for orchestra and soloists while participating in sectionals, orchestra, master classes and enrichment activities.
Opera Studio
A select group of talented young singers will be chosen to spend three weeks in residence at CCM, under the guidance of a renowned faculty, with an emphasis on Italian repertoire. Participants will receive daily Italian language classes, daily coaching and staging sessions, and two voice lessons each week. Students will perform in recital as well as in the culminating opera scenes concert. Participants will also attend Cincinnati Opera’s performance of Der Rosenkavalier and have the opportunity to observe the concurrent Rossini festival at CCM.
String Symposium
The String Symposium celebrates its inaugural year at CCM in 2013 under the direction of Catharine Carroll. Open to all students from around the world, this festival showcases all things strings and presents opportunities to talents ranging from high school to post graduate. Attend performances by world-class performers while immersing yourself in your craft through private lessons, master classes, lectures, seminars and chamber and orchestral activities. The festival will also host an exhibit hall of fine instruments and other string-related goods and services.
Wigs ant Theatre Hair
CCM STAGE HAIR provides instructors and professionals in the theatre industry the tools and concepts they need to effectively style, maintain, and build facial hair and wigs in the theatrical performing arts. Whether you are backstage running a touring musical, or educating students in the classroom, you will leave this one-week intensive feeling confident in the skills you learn. During the week-long stay, you will learn and practice ventilating and styling facial hair, maintaining wigs and facial hair during show runs, and styling synthetic and human hair wigs.

Summer Immersion
One- and two-week summer courses in Music, Dance and Theatre Arts are now available through the CCM Preparatory Department's Summer Immersion programs. Students can choose from programs and workshops including Ballet Intensive, Chamber Music Workshop, Encore Orchestra, Acting Workshop, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Musical Theatre Workshop, Saxophone Symposium and Voice Workshop. On-campus housing is available for out-of-towners.
DAAPcamps: Architecture & Interior Design
This weeklong residential camp for high school students is led by faculty from the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning and introduces participants to a variety of contemporary representation techniques such as sketching, drafting, and building physical and computer models of their design ideas.
DAAPcamps: Horticulture
High school students who attend this weeklong residential camp will work with the city’s leading horticulturists, arborists, and landscape architects to discover the role of plants for recreation, for food, and for improving our climate.
DAAPcamps: Design
Weeklong, residential camps are offered to high school students interested in Fashion Design, Graphic Communication Design, and Industrial Design. Students will gain hands-on experience with studio projects led by design faculty from the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.
DAAPcamps: Pre-College Art Studio
This camp, led by Fine Arts faculty at the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, is offered as a two-week residential camp or a 1-week daystudio for high school students. Participants will hone life-long learning skills through a variety of creative disciplines that are integral to the Fine Arts curriculum, such as drawing, painting, photography, comics, sculpture, film, art writing, and performance art.
DAAPcamps: Urban Planning
Using visual art, photography, storytelling, and building arts activities, students will learn about the economic, social, and environmental forces that have shaped the physical character of Cincinnati and other cities. This is a weeklong residential camp offered to high school students and is led by Urban Planning faculty in the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.

Realizing Rossini
Join us for a unique course, focusing exclusively on the challenging craft of opera. Up to 20 conductors and pianists, along with a carefully selected cast, will be invited to participate in this one-of-a-kind experience while in residence at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Working with an internationally renowned faculty, led by Mark Gibson, Director of Orchestral Studies at CCM, conductors and pianists will have daily Italian instruction, text and style sessions and conducting and coaching master classes. Students will also participate in staging rehearsals, work with singers and lead orchestra rehearsals. Advanced opera singers will have the opportunity to learn a role in its entirety, and work with renowned faculty and industry professionals, along with daily Italian classes and coachings. The course culminates in a semi-staged performance, with orchestra, of Il Barbiere di Siviglia and La Cenerentola.
