What is the Praxis I?
The Praxis Series tests are taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part of the certification process required by many states and professional licensing organizations.
Praxis I tests measure basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics. In addition to licensure, these tests are often used to qualify candidates for entry into a teacher education program. You can take either the combined version of the Praxis I or you can take reading, writing, and mathematics separately.
When is that test given?
We offer the Praxis I Monday-Friday, with appointments available in the morning, afternoon, and some evenings. If you would like to register to take the Praxis I (either combined or individual subjects), you can do so at http://www.ets.org/praxis/register/.

There is not a register-by date for the Praxis I. However, seats for the test can fill up quickly. You should try to register at least two weeks ahead of your desired appointment time.
