Thomas H. Humes
Term: 2007-2016

Thomas H. Humes is president of Great Traditions Land & Development Company, a real estate development company that specializes in creating lifestyle oriented, master planned residential communities.  He has developed more than 4000 acres of land, and created 35 communities in Cincinnati and Dayton. His first apartment and condo community, the Village at Stetson Square, is located near the University of Cincinnati. 

Mr. Humes serves on the boards of directors of US Bank (Cincinnati) and Reading Rock.  He was awarded the Carl H. Lindner Medal for Outstanding Business Achievement in 2007 and received the Distinguished Achievement Award from UC’s Department of Real Estate in 2000.   He was named “Developer of the Year” in 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2008 by the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati. In 2009, he received the “People of Vision Award” from the Prevent Blindness of Ohio organization, and was also honored with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Spirit of Construction Foundation.

He has served on the Board of the Greater Cincinnati Port Authority, Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce, University of Cincinnati Foundation, UCATS, and the Metropolitan Growth Alliance. 

Mr. Humes graduated from UC’s College of Business in 1971 with a degree in marketing and earned a master’s in marketing and media communication from UC’s College of Arts and Sciences in 1977.

Mr. Humes lives in Wyoming, Ohio, with his wife, Marty, and has two adult children, Jamie and Scott.
