H.C. Buck Niehoff, Vice Chairperson Term: 2002-2011
H. C. Buck Niehoff is an attorney at Peck, Shaffer & Williams LLC, specializing in public finance law. He joined the firm in 1973, became a partner in 1979, and was managing partner from 1990 to 1994. In 1998 he became Of Counsel.
His ties with the University of Cincinnati have extended over three decades. He is a 1972 graduate of the College of Law, and since 1992 he has been a member of the Board of Visitors of the College. Since 1993 he has volunteered for the University of Cincinnati Foundation, and he became a member of its Executive Committee in 1997. He was Chair of the Steering Committee for the Cincinnati Area for the $325 million Campaign for the University of Cincinnati. In 2002 he was elected Emeritus Trustee of the Foundation. Since 1997 he and his wife Patti have sponsored an annual "Evening with a Great Teacher," which highlights outstanding faculty members of the University.
Mr. Niehoff is also involved with Republican politics and has been a delegate or alternate delegate to three national conventions. He was Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party and of the Finance Committee of the Party. He has served on the Ohio Parks and Recreation Advisory Council, the Ohio Bicentennial Commission and the Ohio Elected Officials Compensation Commission.
Active in numerous community organizations, he is Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Cincinnati Museum Center and a member of the boards of the following: The Corporation for Findlay Market, Cincinnati Country Day School, Ohio Cancer Research Associates, Ohio Humanities Council, Architectural Foundation of Greater Cincinnati, the Foundation of the Hamilton Country Public Library, and The Mercantile Library.
