Title: Fees: Registration.
Division: 20: Business and Finance
Number: 20-31-06
  1. Registration procedures.

Matriculated students shall apply and be formally admitted to a college prior to registration. Non-matriculated students may apply and be admitted at the time of registration. A student's registration shall be completed when the application for admission has been approved, registration forms have been completed properly and returned to the registrar's office, and student fees have been paid. Instructions concerning registration for each quarter shall be published as far in advance as is practical. Students shall be encouraged to complete their registration at the earliest opportunity.

  2. Enrollment.

A student shall be enrolled when the student's registration has been completed and the financial obligations set forth in these rules have been satisfied. Students who are enrolled shall be eligible to use university academic and recreational facilities and resources including, but not limited to, university libraries, computer laboratories, recreational facilities and student services. Students shall be subject to the rules and regulations for use of equipment, facilities, and services. Students who are enrolled shall be eligible for independent study assignments, student teaching assignments, clinical internships, practicum appointments, etc., beginning no earlier than thirty days prior to the first day of classes.

  3. Delinquent obligations.

Students shall be responsible for discharging all their university financial obligations, such as payment of deferred fees, housing fees, tuition, laboratory fees, matriculation fees or delinquent obligations. Students who are delinquent in paying charges accrued in a previous quarter may be denied the right to register in classes for future courses and to receive transcripts, grades, or diplomas until such fees are paid in full.

  4. Registration change procedure (drop/add).

    1. A student's current quarter registration may be changed either in person at the west campus "One Stop Student Service Center," any branch campus, or the online student registration system. When processing a schedule change in person the appropriate form shall be secured from the student's college.

    2. The following deadlines shall apply to all colleges:

      1. The deadline to add a course shall be the seventh calendar day of the quarter.

      2. The deadline to withdraw from a course shall be the fifty-eighth calendar day of the quarter.

      3. Prior to and during the first seven calendar days of the quarter a student may register or add open classes (either in person or through the online registration system) with no signature required from college or faculty member.

      4. Beginning the eighth calendar day of the quarter and thereafter, special permission is required to register or add. The student shall be required to obtain the signature of the college representative and faculty member.

      5. A student may drop a course through the fifteenth calendar day of the quarter.

      6. A student who withdraws from a class beginning on the sixteenth calendar day of the quarter shall be required to abide by the course instructor's official withdrawal policy. A student withdrawing from a class shall receive a grade of W or F, at the faculty member's discretion.

      7. A student may be administratively withdrawn and granted a one hundred per cent refund if it can be documented that the student does not meet published prerequisites, if the student is subject to the disciplinary sanction of withdrawal, or if required by law.

      8. All registrations and adds shall be completed and fees paid no later than one quarter after the end of the quarter in question. Exceptions may be made only through the student's college dean.
