Hosting UC Organizations:


The UC organizations, Association for India's Development (AID), Sri Lankan Student Association, Peace Village and Just Community are coordinating their efforts for tsunami disaster relief by forming a coalition, Tsunami Victims and Orphans Relief (TVOR) coalition. A brief about these organizations:
 
  • Association for India's Development (AID) - UC Chapter:

    The UC chapter of AID was formed in 1997. There are about 15 active volunteers and 100 'on call' volunteers. So far AID Cincinnati has supported 25 projects in India using more than $75000 raised as funds. More information...


  • Sri Lankan Student Association:

    This student association that comprises of both undergraduate and graduate students has been coordinating the tsunami disaster relief efforts of the Sri Lankan diaspora in the Greater Cincinnati area. The Sri Lankan Student Association supports the Lanka Academic in Sri Lanka.


  • Peace Village:

    Peace Village is a initiative started by Prof. Steve Sunderland at the University of Cincinnati,that seeks to promote peace in the high school and universty classroom.He has contacts with teachers in similar endeavours in several countries. The Peace Village supports the Nurani Dunia Foundation in Indonesia. More information...

 

  • Just Community:

Just Community is a major initiative to create cohesiveness, appreciation for diversity and a sense of pride among students, faculty and employees at the University of Cincinnati. Just Community can be described as an ideal, a philosophy or a state of mind. Just Community made this event possbile. More information...
