Full E-mail MessageDate: August 11, 2006 To: Salary Leave Administrators and Salary Leave Supervisors Subject: NOTICES to Salary Leave Administrators and Supervisors As you know, there have been some issues regarding security authorizations with both the CAT2 transaction for multiple time entry and the CAT4 transaction for time approval. We are happy to announce that we have developed and implemented a solution for CAT2 and CAT4 that when executed without any selection criteria, will only call up the org units you have authorization to maintain. The change to CAT2 was implemented on 7/21/06. The CAT4 changes will be implemented this evening, 8/11, and the result will require you to enter a different transaction as follows: If you normally enter CAT4 in the Command Field, you will now be required to enter ZCAT4. As administrators and supervisors, you will no longer need to enter a variant for your org units/employees. Please note that any variants created under the prior method will no longer be available. However, you can still create a variant if you so desire. Beyond these changes, you may still encounter an issue with a supervisor "locking" your employee(s) when you try to enter time via CAT2. This is due to the ZCAT4 approval process being run by a supervisor that has authorizations to approve your org units. This is not an error. In order for a Salary Leave Supervisor to approve absences, the employee's record must be locked. Due dates for having salaried absences recorded and approved for the month of August is 8/22/06 and the month of September is 9/19/2006. We are still evaluating the length of time necessary to complete the salaried payroll process. After the September payroll is processed, Payroll will publish a schedule of when salaried absences must be recorded and approved. The schedule will appear on the HR Web site and will be emailed to all Salary Leave Administrators and Supervisors. If you have any questions regarding CAT2 or CAT4 authorizations, please email Larry Suttles at larry.suttles@uc.edu. If you are unable to access either the CAT2 or the ZCAT4 transaction, please email ucflex@uc.edu. |
