About the CIO

Nelson C. Vincent, EdD
Vice President for IT & CIO
Assoc. Professor Educator

Nelson C. Vincent, EdD, a UC alumnus, is a 16-year veteran and champion of educational technologies at the university. As Associate Dean for Research, Administrative Services and Outreach in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services (CECH), his leadership helped to distinguish CECH as a trailblazer for innovative and integrative use of technology in teaching, learning and research.

Nelson has also served on numerous technology-related working groups across the university including the Academic Technology Planning Committee, the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Academic Information Technology and the Blue Ribbon Sub-Task Force on IT Governance.
While at CECH, Nelson worked closely with the UCPASS Center, Gen-1 House, HEMI Mentoring Initiative and Upward Bound. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for iSPACE (interactive STEM Programs and Career Exploration), the Arlitt Child and Family Research and Education Center and the Hughes STEM High School Local School Based Decision Making Committee. Nelson is also involved in several other community organizations, including the Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative.

Nelson is as an associate professor educator in CECH.
