About Us

IT Committees

At UC, information technology is an important part of our every day. And we want to make sure our students, staff and faculty members have a voice in the policies we create, strategies we work on, and products/services we provide.

The following committees have representatives from all over the UC community and meet regularly to discuss and provide direction to the IT matters focused on by their group.

The Academic Technology Planning Committee (ATPC) considers a broad spectrum of policy and technical issues regarding IT in instruction, research, and academic management.

The E-Communication Planning Committee (ECPC) established by the Executive Technology Strategy Committee, is chaired by the Vice President of Governmental Relations and University Communications.

The Executive Technology Strategy Committee (ETSC) sets and prioritizes IT related policies and projects.

The Faculty Senate Information Technology Committee (FSIT) provides recommendations to the Senate about IT issues and shares IT knowledge and coordinates IT efforts among academic units.

The Infrastructure Technology Planning Committee (ITPC) plans for all university-wide technology infrastructure requirements and makes recommendations.

The Institutional Management Technology Committee (IMTC) establishes a philosophy for institutional management systems and data that can effectively influence policy decisions and systems development at all levels.

The Blue Ribbon Task Force developed a vision and strategic plan for academic information technology at UC for the next five to 10 years. Read the Blue Ribbon Report and the IT Governance Report, both of which  support UC 2019 and the Academic Master Plan. Other outcomes of the Blue Ribbon Task Force include the Distance and Online Learning Support Action Team, which recently released a recommendation report and presentation.
