A distribution list contains multiple destinations, so that when you are sending a message, you can enter the list number rather than entering each individual destination. Users with all four Classes of Service can set up and manage distribution lists via the Telephone User Interface (TUI). Unified, Plus, and Standard mailbox users may also use the Web Interface for this function.
Managing Distribution Lists via the TUI
To access the Distribution List Options menu, from the Main menu, press [9]. From the Setup Options menu, press [5]. To hear a summary of this feature, press [0]. Detailed information is available via the TUI.
Managing Distribution Lists via the Web Interface
Access the UMS Web Provisioning interface at http://vmail.uc.edu/admin and log in by entering your username and password.
- From the Main menu, click Distribution Lists. The Distribution Lists Screen will appear.
- To create a new distribution list:
- Type the name of the list (a number between 1 and 9999) in the New List Textbox, and then click Create New List.
- Type an entry in the New Entry textbox.
- Select the type of entry from the drop-down list:
- List - i.e., another distribution list number - Mailbox Entry - i.e., the mailbox number of a subscriber - Phone Number - the phone number of a subscriber - E-mail - the e-mail address of a subscriber
- Click Create New Entry. The system will confirm the new entry.
- Repeat the steps to add more entries.
- Click View All Lists. The Distribution List screen will appear.
- To display and edit a distribution list, select it from the drop-down list and then click View/Edit.
- To delete a distribution list, select it and then click Delete List. The system will confirm the deletion.
