Blackberry and Active Sync

Users with properly equipped mobile devices can synchronize them with their e-mail, thanks to the Blackberry server and Active Sync software. Management of UC's Blackberry server is a cooperative effort between
E-Mail Services and UC Mobile. In accordance with this partnership, subscribers must purchase a UC Mobile Blackberry with a data plan in order to synchronize successfully on the UC network. Because it is an additional service that UC must contract through Blackberry, there is a $ 70 per user licensing fee. You can request access through GETit at https://www.uc.edu/UCit/GetIT/default.asp.

There are several key differences between Blackberry and Exchange Active Sync that potential subscribers should know when considering the purchase of a Blackberry device.
