Stata Statistical Software

Stata offers cutting-edge statistics, graphics, and data management solutions for research professionals. Stata software is available for the Windows, Macintosh, and Linux platforms.  UC students, faculty, and staff have licensed access to this software at discounted prices.

There are three types of Stata software available: 

• Stata/SE
• Stata/IC
• Small Stata

Each provides the same functionality; the only difference is the size of analysis the software can perform. The first two are professional-level software, whereas Small Stata is appropriate for student use.

Interested users must order (and pay for) the software directly with the Stata Corporation but will take quick delivery from UCit. Via this arrangement, called the Method 3-GradPlan, the cost to UC users is kept to a minimum since shipping and some handling costs are eliminated. Stata has placed and monitors a small inventory of its products with UCit.
