Ai Squared (Zoomtext) Expand
ZoomText is the world’s leading magnification and reading software. With its easy to use features, ZoomText makes computers accessible and friendly to low-vision users.
Operating System: Windows 2000/XP/Vista
Installation on university-owned or leased computers is free for visually impaired, and the license does not expire. Installation on a student-owned computer is not covered under the site license program. Students may use ZoomText in the UCIT Computer Labs.

Fact Mapper Expand
The "Fact Mapper" feature available on the Read &Write toolbar contains an extensive image library for use when creating fact maps.
You may also add your own images using the "Fact Mapper Image Uploader Tool." Images uploaded using this tool will be available for use by all copies of Read &Write running within your site.

MathWorks MatLab Expand
MathWorks MatLab Software Suite is a is a numerical computing environment that allows for manipulations, plotting of data, execution of algorithms and more.

Student software can be obtained for $99 per DVD at the UC Bookstores.

Students can also purchase and download directly from MathWorks. These licenses are perpetual and do not expire.

McAfee (Intel Security) Expand
McAfee anti-virus suite & anti-spyware for home and personal use can be downloaded by UC students, faculty and staff at no cost.

Microsoft Office 365 (Digital Download)
The University now offers the Microsoft Office suite as a free download to students via their Office 365 student e-mail account. As long as you are a student at the University of Cincinnati, you will be able to use the software free of charge.

Microsoft Windows (Physical Media)
The University also has a Campus Agreement (CA) for Microsoft desktop products for personal and departmental use. You may purchase these products (on CD) for a nominal fee from the University Bookstores.
Students, faculty and staff are eligible for this discount. The Student Licensing Form and Faculty/Staff Licensing Form will thoroughly explain licensing information and edibility.
Here are some examples of those who are not eligible:
- Anyone enrolled exclusively in non-credit courses
- Companies, and their employees, who have been hired on a contractual basis for services on or off campus. (i.e., individuals not directly employed by University of Cincinnati)
- Conference attendees\
- Retired faculty and staff
Skype for Business (formerly Microsoft Lync)
Skype for Business is the central Instant Messaging and Conferencing service for faculty, students and staff at UC. As a complement to the student email system. Instructions for installing and using Lync can be found HERE.
R (http://www.r-project.org/) is a powerful statistical computing language, package, and environment for graphics and data analysis. It is FREE and Open Source. It compiles and runs on a wide variety of Windows, Mac OS, and UNIX platforms.

Read & Write software solutions help individuals struggling with reading and writing, those with learning disabilities such as Dyslexia or English Language Learners by ensuring that everyone has the literacy support they need to reach their potential and achieve independence.
