Computer Labs Update
by Paul Schwab
UCit has made some changes to the public computer labs over the summer. Most notably, UCit has opened the Student Technology Resources Center, refurbished the classroom lab in 475 Langsam, and closed the DAAP lab.
Steger Student Life Center is home to the UCit Student Technology Resources Center (STRC). This state-of-the-art facility offers the following services to UC students:
- 24-Hour Computer Lab
- Multimedia Editing Room
- Internet Express Kiosks
- Student Help Desk
- Breakout Rooms
- Wireless Network Access
Please see UCit Student Technology Resources Center Now Open (Summer 2004, s04_strc) for more information about the STRC.
Updates to the teaching lab in 475 Langsam include all new furniture, new Dell workstations with 17" flat panels, and the addition of laptop stations with both wired and wireless access.
Due to budget cuts, UCit closed the DAAP lab on 7 September 2004. Students in DAAP can use other computer labs located within the college. All UC students have access to UCit's computer labs around campus.
