Online File Service Update

In the Fall 2004 issue of UCit now, UCit announced a new online file service that is being developed for use by UC faculty and students. (See Online File Service Coming Soon!) Using this service, an authorized user will be able to save files in his or her own personal space from anywhere on the UC campus network, then access the files from other on-campus locations, such as computer labs or classrooms. If you have a laptop computer with a wireless network card, you can even get to your files from the Mainstreet patio tables between TUC and Steger, or any other wireless access point on campus.

UCit performed limited testing of the system during Fall Quarter, and the results have been good. We have added several students to the test group, and additional faculty members will be added in the very near future. Based on the results of this round of testing, we will make any needed adjustments and determine a date for general release.
