Toward achieving this aim, we negotiate and implement software discount and licensing agreements with many software manufacturers. The agreements cover myriad different products for desktop, instructional, research, and security needs. Where possible, licensing includes students and home use rights for faculty and staff.

We have arranged to have the software distributed either as a download from a UCit server or via media. For the Adobe Contractual Licensing Program (CLP), the Apple OS Maintenance Agreement, and the Microsoft Campus Agreement, UCit partners with UC Bookstores to provide a flexible distribution channel. In all other cases, a UCit unit distributes the licenses and media to interested users.

The table below lists some attributes of some agreements that may be of special interest to new students, faculty, and staff.
