Microsoft Software - Looking ahead to What is New

In the next few months, the Microsoft Corporation will begin offering new releases of many of its products, including the Office suite and the Windows operating system. Exact and confirmed dates have not been communicated to us. But as a heads-up to our UC Community, we want to provide the following preliminary information concerning the versions of these products that UCit will be offering as part of our Campus Agreement Contract with Microsoft. Please recall that in accordance with this Agreement, the University of Cincinnati continues to pre-license all current employees and registered students for these two products and that we distribute the media (for a very small fee) through the UC Bookstores.
1. Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise edition: While there will be many editions of the Office 2007 suite, UCit will be distributing the Enterprise edition. This edition will include these products:
- Microsoft Office Excel® 2007
- Microsoft Office Outlook® 2007
- Microsoft Office PowerPoint® 2007
- Microsoft Office Word 2007
- Microsoft Office Access 2007
- Microsoft Office InfoPath® 2007
- Microsoft Office Communicator
- Microsoft Office Publisher 2007
- Microsoft Office OneNote® 2007
- Microsoft Office Groove® 2007
- Integrated solution capabilities such as enterprise content management (ECM), electronic forms, and information rights and policy capabilities.

2. Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise edition: There also will be various editions of the Windows Vista operating system but UCit will be distributing the Enterprise edition. According to Microsoft, the Windows Vista Enterprise edition is "designed to meet the needs of large global organizations with highly complex IT infrastructures."
