New Scantron Form Works with Blackboard
by Daren Porter
UCit Exam Grading Services has designed a new standard Scantron form to accommodate the new UCID number. Customized for the University, the form replaces the NCS five-item, blue and ten-item, green forms, which used the Social Security Number in the ID field. The new form, which is red and titled UC-1000, accommodates the UCID (M-number) instead. You can see a sample of the new form online.
In addition to the enhanced security provided by the new UCID, we anticipate that faculty will appreciate how easily this new form uploads to the Blackboard gradebook. To take advantage of this feature, complete the Exam User Form, specifying that you would like the results in Blackboard gradebook format. These results will contain the UC "6+2" username Blackboard upload requires.
UCit strongly encourages all faculty to use UC-1000. For a limited time, Exam Grading Services can still accept the NCS forms, but cannot accept SSNs as identifiers. Please note that we will return, regretfully but ungraded, forms with SSNs specified.
To obtain the UC-1000 form for fall quarter, please send email to examgrad@uc.edu, call Daren Porter at 6-5259, or call Jane Combs-Haniefy at 6-1907. Starting in winter quarter, UC-1000 forms will be available through Central Stores.
