UC Mobile Now Offers E-Wallet Functionality
by Mark Faulkner
UC now has a mobile payment program for UC Mobile students who do business with merchants in the Uptown business district and on the university campus. "This initiative adds another unique, leading edge application to our UC Mobile program, making the Bearcat phone an even more useful and value-added service for the students and the community," said Vice President and CIO, Fred Siff.
Mocapay (MObile CAsh PAYments) founder and CEO, Rod Stambaugh, said, "As the nation's premiere retail mobile payment solution, we are honored to put UC students and Cincinnati merchants on the forefront of this innovative new technology. Mocapay provides students with a safe, easy alternative to the hassles of credit cards, debit cards, cash, and checkbooks."
The program is not limited to students. Anyone living or working in the Uptown business district can sign up for the program now at http://mocapay.com.
UC Mobile's mobile payment feature is powered by Mocapay and Cincinnati Bell, and sponsored by Kroger. At press time, various merchants have signed up to accept mobile payments under the plan, and we expect many more to join them.
