Use EduKey to Access Lab PCs - or to Go to OZ!

by Ellen Davis

UCit Instructional and Research Computing (IRC) has set up an Active Directory/LDAP server for use in its labs. Before you can use a UCit lab computer, you must log in with a username and password that is stored in AD/LDAP. Starting Fall Quarter 2003, you can access OZ with the same AD/LDAP username and password. This shared username and password is an EduKey account.

You can manage your EduKey account at the edukey.uc.edu web site. There, you will be able to change your password. (UCit will disable the passwd command on OZ.)

The important points about EduKey are as follows:

  • You have one username and password for both OZ and UCit lab logins.
  • You can change the password at the edukey.uc.edu web site.
  • Active faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students have precreated EduKey accounts.
  • UCit will disable the EduKey account of any student not enrolled by the second week of any given quarter in the academic year. Exceptions will be made for summer quarter.

If you need help with your EduKey account, please speak with a consultant in one of the UCit labs, or call the UCit HelpDesk at (513) 556-3785.
