Software Distribution Office News
by Ellen Davis
The UCit Software Distribution Office distributes the following site-licensed products to faculty and staff: Lisrel, Mathematica, SAS, SPSS, SYSTAT, SigmaPlot, SigmaStat, and ZoomText. SAS is available to graduate students.
Distribution CDs
Starting Spring Quarter 2004, faculty and staff will be able to purchase a copy of the software on CD, and keep the CD. You will be able to share the CD with faculty and staff in your department, but please note that each installation will require the purchase of a license.
The exception is Lisrel, for which faculty and staff must borrow an installation kit from the Software Distribution Office. A kit must be returned within one week.
New Order Forms
We are discontinuing use of the order form with all software products listed. Now, each product has its own order form. Please use the new forms for faster processing.
Updated Web Site
We have updated the Software Distribution web site to reflect the new distribution method. The new order forms are available in PDF format, and we have added a lot of information about the ordering processes. Please visit the web site and read the section for the product you are interested in before ordering.
Software News
- SAS 6.12 for Macintosh
UCit does not plan to renew SAS for Macintosh when the SAS site license contract is renewed in July. SAS, Inc. stopped development for SAS on the Macintosh with version 6.12, so the Software Distribution Office will no longer distribute SAS for Macintosh.
- SPSS 12.0
SPSS 12.0 is now available. Users who purchased a SPSS 11.5 license after 1 July 2003 are eligible for a free SPSS 12.0 license. Users must purchase the media (or borrow the CD within their departments).
- SigmaStat 3.0
SigmaStat 3.0 is now available. Users who purchased a SigmaStat 2.03 license after 1 July 2003 are eligible for a free SigmaStat 3.0 license. Users must purchase the media (or borrow the CD within their departments).
