Online Ordering Comes to UC: Get Your IT at GETit

1 March 2004 - GETit (pronounced GET I. T.) is now available! This web-based application permits the UC community to order UCit products and services online, dramatically reducing front-end processing time.
Currently, the system offers 120 products and services, including:
- Cable TV
- Cellular Phones
- Email Accounts
- LAN Services
- Long Distance
- Network Connections
- Pagers
- Software
- Telephones
- Training
- Voice Mail
UCit will continue to add products and services as they become available.
To use GETit, a customer logs in using his or her remote access account, and places products or services (or both) into a shopping cart. At check out, the individual (or his or her designated approver) approves the order. Upon validation of the budget numbers, the system routes the order, via email, to the UCit Business Office. Business Office personnel enter the appropriate information into the UCit billing system, and GETit sends the order to the appropriate UCit individual or supervisor for fulfillment.
GETit provides order-tracking capabilities, via the Review Requests link on the GETit site.
GETit will:
- Replace paper A502s and A503s.
- Centralize products and services for one stop shopping.
- Provide detailed product information and pricing.
- Reduce the processing time of each order, by
- increasing order accuracy and - standardizing order information.
Please note that with the roll-out of the system on 1 March 2004, UCit is phasing out hard copy A502 and A503 service requests. UCit will accept online A502s until 1 May 2004, and hard copy forms until 1 July 2004.
