New Fiber Ring Provides Backbone for University Research

  Student requests for computer connectivity rose sharply for Fall Quarter 2003, and ResNet technicians activated a total of 3,118 computer jacks in the undergraduate dormitories. This represents connectivity for 98% of undergraduate occupancy, as compared to approximately 85% connectivity in Fall 2002. These figures support the national trend of today's students deeming "being wired" as a necessity in their daily lives.
