McMicken College of Arts and Sciences Biological Sciences Research Program Undergraduates can earn course credit for participating in research projects in one of the hundreds of active labs conducting biological research at UC. Projects culminating with a presentation may be counted as a course toward the biology major or toward the capstone requirement. College of Engineering ACCEND Program The ACCEND programs allows students to to earn both a bachelor's and master's degree in five years, while also participating in the cooperative education program. The College of Engineering integrates distance learning courses during co-op quarters with traditional on-campus education, laboratory and project-based learning, and five quarters of hands-on industry experience. ACCEND students begin their graduate thesis research experiences while an undergraduate and complete the thesis during their last year of study.
College of Engineering Co-op Program The National Science Foundation-funded Research Co-op Certificate program in the College of Engineering offers students the opportunity to conduct real research in real labs--all while making money. Students can take advantage of co-op opportunities in cutting-edge laboratories to gain experience tailored to their career goals in areas such as medicine or teaching. Students can also choose dual enrollment with the UC College of Medicine while fulfilling their bachelor’s degree in engineering. Learn more about the Reseach Co-op Program.
College of Engineering U.S. EPA Traineeships The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sponsors a research training program to provide qualified students with a unique educational experience at a federal research laboratory. Each trainee works directly with an EPA scientist and a UC faculty advisor on a personalized research project at the EPA’s National Risk Management Research Laboratory in Cincinnati (across from the UC campus). Appointments range from one academic quarter up to one year. A monthly stipend is provided.
College of Medicine ROSE Program Undergraduate students at Ohio universities are eligible to apply for the Research, Observation, Service, Education (ROSE) program at the University of Cincinnati. This program provides stimulating experiences and contact with academic medical faculty to high-ability, intellectually curious pre-medical college students.
