Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU)
Since 2005, students and faculty of the University of Cincinnati have benefited from the university's membership in Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU). This consortium is made up of 96 colleges and universities and serves as a contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy. ORAU is based in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and works with its member institutions to help students and faculty gain access to federal research facilities throughout the country. It also serves to keep its members informed about opportunities for fellowship, scholarship and research appointments, and organizes research alliances among its members.
Through the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, a Department of Energy facility operated by ORAU, faculty and undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate scholars enjoy access to many opportunities for study and research.
